DeeAn Nakagawa
DeeAn Nakagawa joined Mako & Associates in 1997. She has been a corporate trainer for organizations in healthcare, government, community, corporate and non-profit. DeeAn has an Educational Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Seattle University with her dissertation entitled, "Benefits of Organizational Leadership Training". Her Masters degree is in Adult Education, Human Resources: Training, Education and Development from Seattle University. Her Bachelors degree is in English/Theatre in Secondary Education with an American Cultural Studies minor from Western Washington University. Dr. Nakagawa is an avid learner about human interactions.

Dr. Nakagawa is happily married and enjoys swimming, time with family and planning her next vacation!
Mako Nakagawa
Mako Nakagawa has been the President and CEO of Mako & Associates since its inception in 1994 until she semi-retired in 2016. She is a nationally recognized presenter on diversity and the Japanese American Concentration Camp experience for educators. Ms. Nakagawa was the Executive Director of the Rainbow Program, a diversity training for elementary students in the Seattle School District; a former Seattle Schools Principal at Alki and Cooper Elementary schools; the Multicultural Specialist for the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI); and is currently working on publishing her book of short stories about growing up in the Japanese American Concentration Camps - Child Prisoner which is scheduled for release in March of 2019. Ms. Nakagawa has a Masters degree in Educational Administration from Seattle University. Ms. Nakagawa is the mother of 3 adult children and enjoys watching sports, going on outings with family.
